Posts and levels
Phase XIV covers 3,003 posts in various ministries, departments and organisations. They are grouped by the qualification each one needs, and a separate paper is set for each group.

Age limit
The overall range is 18 to 35 years as on 1 January 2026, with relaxation for reserved categories as per SSC rules. The exact upper limit varies from post to post, so check the entry for the post you applied to rather than assuming the outer range applies to you.

One objective computer-based paper of 60 minutes, with 0.50 marks deducted for every wrong answer. The paper is set at the level of the post group you applied to, so a Matriculation-level paper is noticeably easier than a Graduation-level one even though the structure is identical.
What to do in the next three days
- Download the admit card the moment it appears and read the reporting time, not just the exam time. Gates close well before the paper starts.
- Check your centre address on a map. Selection Post centres are often further out than CGL or CHSL ones.
- Carry a printed admit card and one original photo ID — Aadhaar, Voter ID, PAN, passport or driving licence. Phones, smart watches and Bluetooth devices are not allowed and centres do not store them.
- Revise, do not learn. With three days left, solving papers you have already attempted beats opening a new chapter.
TrickySSC does not host Selection Post papers yet. For last-minute practice at this level, the SSC CHSL Tier 1 papers are the closest match — same four sections, same 100 questions for 200 marks, same 0.50 negative marking.

When exactly is my exam?
Somewhere between 16 and 26 September 2026. SSC spreads the paper across several days and shifts, and only your admit card names your date.
Is the admit card out?
Not yet. Exam city details were released on 8 September 2026. The admit card normally follows three to four days before your exam, on your SSC regional website.
How many posts are on offer?
3,003 across Matriculation, Higher Secondary and Graduation and above levels.
What is the age limit?
18 to 35 years as on 1 January 2026 overall, with the exact limit varying by post. Category relaxations apply.
Is there negative marking?
Yes, 0.50 marks per wrong answer.
Do all candidates take the same paper?
