English Language and Comprehension is the largest module in CHSL Tier 2: forty questions at +3 and −1, sharing Section II's hour with General Awareness. Reading comprehension, cloze, error detection, sentence improvement and vocabulary all appear, so reading speed is as important as grammar.
Solving the English questions paper by paper shows you what SSC actually repeats. Across shifts of the same cycle the question types barely change — only the numbers, words and facts do — so after a dozen papers you will recognise most questions within seconds. That recognition is what turns a 40-minute section into a comfortable one.
Work newest first: the most recent shifts show the current pattern. Attempt each test on the timer, then read every solution — including the ones you got right, because the shortcut in the solution is often faster than your method. Keep an error log, and after every five tests check which topic keeps appearing in it.
