• This maritime outreach aligns with the Quad Foreign Ministers' joint statement issued on 26 May 2026.

• Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) successfully conducted the 10th edition of a mega eye surgery camp under Operation Drishti.
• The two-day camp was organized on 24–25 September 2026 at Tangdhar, Kupwara district near the Line of Control in Jammu & Kashmir.
• Military eye surgeons performed 220 sight-restoring surgeries, predominantly advanced cataract phacoemulsification, alongside vitreoretinal and micro-invasive glaucoma procedures.
• The camp was led by Brigadier Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Head of Ophthalmology at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), Delhi Cantt.
• Chief of the Army Staff General Dheeraj Seth and DGAFMS Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja reviewed the facilities and interacted with patients.
• Under the AFMS initiative, over 1.5 lakh patients have been screened and more than 3,500 surgeries completed across 10 cities; the 11th camp will take place in Srinagar.

Key Highlights of the Medical Mission

• Patients were mobilized from border villages including Kandi, Khavarpora, Teetwal, and Tad via announcements on Radio Ruh-e-Karnah.
• Advanced equipment for phacoemulsification and vitreoretinal surgery was transported to high-altitude frontier areas.
• The 11th edition of the camp is scheduled at Srinagar from 27 to 29 September 2026, with the valedictory address by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.

• Indian distance runner Gulveer Singh clinched the Silver medal in the Men's 10,000 metres event at the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
• This marks Gulveer's second career Asian Games podium finish, having previously secured a Bronze medal in the discipline.

• Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated the 4th edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) at Greater Noida.

• The first national-level agenda-setting consultative meeting on the National Cooperative Training Framework (NCTF) 2026 was held at Atal Akshay Urja Bhawan, New Delhi.
• The consultation was organized by "Tribhuvan" Cooperative University (TSU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperation.
• Minister of State for Cooperation Krishan Pal Gurjar inaugurated the agenda-setting session.

• The Ministry of Minority Affairs signed key MoUs at IISc Bengaluru to bolster infrastructure evaluation, entrepreneurship, and scheme monitoring.

• The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) released the 49th monthly report on CPGRAMS for States/UTs for August 2026.
• A total of 98,997 public grievance cases were received and 79,639 cases were disposed of by States and Union Territories during August.
• Uttar Pradesh topped the country in grievance disposal with 28,939 cases resolved, followed by Gujarat (6,810) and Rajasthan (5,895).
• Under the Sevottam Scheme, 1,270 training courses have been completed and 42,011 officers trained over the past five financial years (FY 2022–23 to FY 2026–27).
• West Bengal registered the highest number of new portal user registrations (42,054 out of 1,38,801 total) and the highest complaints via Common Service Centres (CSCs).
