Free SSC CGL Mock Test 2026 with Real Sectional Timing

The SSC Combined Graduate Level examination changed shape in 2026, and the change is not a small one. For the first time, Tier I runs under strict sectional timing: each of the four sections gets its own 15-minute window, and once that window closes you cannot go back to it. The old habit of borrowing ten minutes from General Awareness to finish Quantitative Aptitude no longer exists. A candidate who has prepared the entire syllabus but practised only on a single 60-minute clock will find the real paper harder than expected, not because the questions changed, but because the clock did.

TrickySSC provides a free SSC CGL Mock Test series built for that reality. Every full-length Tier I mock on this page runs four locked 15-minute sections in the same order and under the same rules as the actual examination. You practise the constraint, not an approximation of it.

The series covers both stages of the examination — 50 full-length Tier I mocks and 50 full-length Tier II mocks — with questions drawn from a detailed study of previous year papers and the 2026 syllabus. Every test carries detailed solutions, and every test is available in both English and Hindi. You choose the language before the test begins, and the questions, options and explanations all follow your choice.

Mock tests are not merely a way of checking how much you know. They are how you learn to spend your time. Two candidates with identical knowledge can score twenty marks apart purely on the strength of how they decide, within seconds, whether a question is worth attempting. That judgement is trained, not innate, and it is trained by attempting full-length papers under real conditions and then studying what went wrong.

What Changed in SSC CGL 2026

The Staff Selection Commission announced the 2026 Combined Graduate Level examination for 12,256 Group B and Group C vacancies, and the notification introduced the most significant structural change the exam has seen in years. Sectional timing now applies to both Tier I and Tier II.

The rule in one line: each section has a fixed timer, sections open in a fixed order, and once a section's time expires it locks permanently. Unused time in one section cannot be carried into another.

Three practical consequences follow, and each one changes how you should prepare.

Balanced preparation now beats a single strong subject. A candidate who could previously rescue a weak English section by finishing Quantitative Aptitude in 20 minutes has lost that option. Every section must now stand on its own.

Question selection matters more than raw speed. With only 15 minutes for 25 questions, roughly 36 seconds per question, a single long calculation can consume the time of four easy questions. Learning to abandon a question quickly is now a scoring skill.

Sectional practice is no longer optional. Attempting 25 reasoning questions in a strict 15-minute block is a different exercise from attempting 100 questions in 60 minutes, and only the first one resembles the exam.

SSC CGL Tier I Exam Pattern 2026

Tier I is qualifying in nature and consists of four sections of equal weight, each with its own timer.

SSC CGL Tier II Exam Pattern 2026

Tier II Paper I is compulsory for all candidates and also runs under sectional timing, though with different limits from Tier I.

SSC CGL Tier II Paper I — Sectional Timing
ModuleQuestionsSectional Time

Reasoning & General Intelligence3030 minutes
English Language & Comprehension4540 minutes
General Awareness2520 minutes

Paper II applies to candidates opting for Junior Statistical Officer posts, and Paper III to those applying for Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer. Candidates should confirm the exact structure against the official notification on the SSC website, since the Commission occasionally issues clarifications after the initial release.

How to Manage 15-Minute Sections

A workable Tier I plan treats the four sections differently, because they reward different behaviour. The following approach is what most high scorers converge on, and it is worth rehearsing across several mocks until it becomes automatic.

General Intelligence & Reasoning

Usually the fastest-scoring section, and the one where finishing early is realistic. Target 11 to 13 minutes. Series, coding-decoding and analogy questions should take under 30 seconds each; leave seating arrangement and complex puzzles for a second pass rather than attempting them in order.

General Awareness

Treat this as a sprint of seven to nine minutes. You either know a General Awareness answer or you do not, and staring at an unfamiliar question does not recover it. Mark, move, and use the remaining minutes to revisit only those where you genuinely narrowed the options to two.

Quantitative Aptitude

This section will consume its full 15 minutes and still feel short. Take one pass picking off arithmetic, percentage, ratio and simple geometry questions, then return to anything requiring extended calculation. Attempting questions in printed order is the single most common way candidates lose marks here.

English Comprehension

Rewards calm reading rather than rushing. Do vocabulary, spelling, one-word substitution and idiom questions first, since each takes seconds, then give the comprehension passage the time that remains. Cloze tests and passages reward accuracy, not haste.

The habit that matters most: never freeze on a single question. Each section closes on its own schedule, so two minutes lost to one stubborn question is two minutes that cannot be recovered anywhere else in the paper.

What Is Inside the TrickySSC Mock Test Series

The Tier I series is deliberately structured in two parts rather than being fifty interchangeable papers.

Mock 1 to Mock 40 — Practice

Pitched at genuine SSC CGL level and spread deliberately across every topic in the Tier I syllabus, so that no chapter goes untested across the set. These are the mocks that build accuracy, sectional discipline and syllabus coverage. If you are working through the series in order, this is where the bulk of your practice belongs.

Mock 41 to Mock 50 — Challenge

Set deliberately above the difficulty of the real paper. SSC shifts vary, and every cycle produces one or two papers that candidates walk out of feeling shaken. The challenge mocks exist so that such a shift feels survivable rather than shocking. Holding a respectable score across these is a reliable sign that a normal paper will feel comfortable.

New Tier I mocks are released one per day, and every mock that is not yet live displays its release date on its card, so you can plan your revision schedule around the calendar rather than guessing. The full set of 50 Tier I mocks completes on 1 September 2026. The Tier II series goes live from 15 October 2026.

Free Mock Tests and the Premium Plan

Mock 1 to Mock 4 are free. They are complete full-length papers, not samples or trimmed versions, and they run the same sectional timing and carry the same detailed solutions as every other test in the series. A free TrickySSC account is required to attempt them, which is also what saves your score, rank and section-wise analysis between attempts. There is no payment step and no card details.

The remaining mocks are covered by a single Premium plan. One payment of ₹49, against a list price of ₹199, unlocks all 50 Tier I mocks and all 50 Tier II mocks for one year, including every mock added during that year. It is not a per-test charge, and there is no recurring subscription. Given that comparable test series are usually priced in the high hundreds, the intention is to keep serious practice affordable for candidates who are preparing on a limited budget.

How to Attempt an SSC CGL Mock Test on TrickySSC

  1. Choose a mock test from the list above and select your language, English or Hindi.
  2. Read the instruction screen, which sets out the sectional timing, marking scheme and navigation controls.
  3. Attempt the paper section by section. Each section carries its own 15-minute timer and closes automatically when the time expires.
  4. Use the question palette to mark questions for review within the current section, and clear responses you are unsure about rather than guessing blindly, since a wrong answer costs 0.50 marks.
  5. Submit at the end and study your score, section-wise breakdown, and the full solution review.
  6. Return to the questions you got wrong before attempting the next mock. This step is where the improvement actually happens.

Why Attempt SSC CGL Mock Tests

Time management under the new rules

Sectional timing has made time management a technical skill rather than a general virtue. Repeated full-length practice teaches you what 15 minutes actually feels like in each section, which is not something that can be learned from a syllabus.

Accuracy and negative marking

At 0.50 marks per error, four careless mistakes cancel two correct answers. Regular mocks reduce the calculation slips and misread questions that quietly erode scores.

Identifying weak areas

Section-wise analysis after each test shows precisely where marks are being lost. Most candidates are surprised by which section is actually costing them the most, and it is rarely the one they expected.

Exam temperament

Familiarity removes a meaningful amount of exam-day anxiety. A candidate who has already sat through fifty timed papers approaches the fifty-first without the disorientation that costs the first ten minutes.

SSC CGL Mock Test in Hindi

Every mock test in this series is available in Hindi as well as English. The language is selected before the test starts, and the entire paper follows it — question text, options, and the detailed solution after submission. Candidates preparing in Hindi often find that mock test platforms translate questions but leave solutions in English; here the explanations are provided in the language you chose, so revision after the test is as useful as the test itself.

Mock Tests or Previous Year Papers?

This is a false choice, and candidates who treat it as one usually under-prepare on one side. Previous year papers teach you how the Commission frames questions, which topics recur, and what level of difficulty is realistic. Mock tests teach you to perform under sectional pressure with unfamiliar questions. A reasonable pattern through the final two months is to alternate between them, and to use chapter-wise tests for any topic that keeps appearing in your error log.

Preparation Strategy for the Final Weeks

In the last month before the examination, stop adding new topics. The return on beginning a fresh chapter three weeks out is close to zero, while the return on fixing a recurring mistake is immediate. A workable rhythm is one full-length mock every alternate day, with the intervening day spent entirely on reviewing that mock and revising the specific topics it exposed.

Keep a written error log. Not a list of questions you got wrong, but a list of the reasons: misread the question, calculation slip, guessed without eliminating, ran out of section time. Four or five entries of the same reason point to something you can actually fix in a week.

Revise General Awareness daily in short bursts rather than in long sessions, since it rewards repetition. Keep formulas and grammar rules on a single sheet you can review in ten minutes. And attempt at least three or four papers at the same time of day as your allotted exam shift, so that the body clock is not an additional variable on the day.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Are SSC CGL Mock Tests free on TrickySSC?

The first four full-length SSC CGL mock tests are completely free — no payment and no card details. You will need a free TrickySSC account to attempt them, which also saves your score, rank and section-wise analysis. The remaining mocks are part of the Premium plan, a single ₹49 payment (normally ₹199) that unlocks all 50 Tier I and all 50 Tier II mocks for one year, including every mock released during that year.

2. Do these mock tests follow the new SSC CGL 2026 sectional timing?

Yes. Every full-length Tier I mock on TrickySSC runs with a 15-minute timer on each of the four sections. When the 15 minutes end, that section closes and the next one opens automatically, exactly as in the 2026 examination. You cannot carry unused time forward or return to a closed section, so the practice matches the real constraint rather than the old single-clock format.

3. What is the SSC CGL Tier I exam pattern for 2026?

Tier I has 100 questions carrying 200 marks, to be completed in 60 minutes. The four sections — General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension — carry 25 questions and 50 marks each, and each section now has its own 15-minute timer. There is a penalty of 0.50 marks for every incorrect answer.

4. How is the Tier II timing different from Tier I?

Tier II Paper I also uses sectional timers, but with different limits: 30 minutes each for Mathematical Abilities and Reasoning, 40 minutes for English Language and Comprehension, and 20 minutes for General Awareness. Computer Knowledge and the Data Entry Speed Test are handled as separate modules.

5. How many mock tests are there in the series?

The series covers 50 full-length Tier I mocks and 50 full-length Tier II mocks. Within Tier I, Mock 1 to Mock 40 are pitched at real examination level for accuracy and syllabus coverage, while Mock 41 to Mock 50 are challenge mocks set deliberately above the real difficulty.

6. What is the difference between practice mocks and challenge mocks?

Mock 1 to 40 mirror the difficulty of an actual SSC CGL paper and are spread across every topic in the syllabus, so they are the right choice for building accuracy and speed. Mock 41 to 50 are harder than the real paper on purpose. They exist so that an unexpectedly tough shift on exam day feels manageable rather than alarming.

7. Are the mock tests available in Hindi?

Yes. Every mock test is available in both English and Hindi. You choose your language before the test begins, and the questions, options and detailed solutions are all provided in the language you select.

8. Do I get solutions and performance analysis after the test?

Yes. After submitting, you get your score, the number of correct, incorrect and skipped questions, section-wise performance, and a full review with detailed explanations for every question. Where a shortcut applies, the solution includes the trick as well as the standard method.

9. How many mock tests should I attempt before the examination?

Aim for at least 20 to 30 full-length mocks, taken at a steady pace rather than crammed into the final week. What matters more than the count is the review: an hour spent analysing a completed mock is usually worth more than attempting the next one immediately.

10. Can I attempt the same mock test more than once?

Yes. You can reattempt any mock test as often as you like. A second attempt several weeks later is a useful check on whether a weak section has genuinely improved.

11. Should I practise mock tests or previous year papers?

Both, and for different reasons. Previous year papers show you exactly how SSC frames questions and which topics repeat. Mock tests build speed, sectional discipline and exam temperament under the new timing rules. TrickySSC provides both free previous year papers and this mock test series.

12. When are the remaining mock tests released?

New Tier I mocks are released one per day, with each not-yet-live mock showing its release date on its card so you can plan around it. The full set of 50 Tier I mocks completes on 1 September 2026. Tier II mocks go live from 15 October 2026 and are included in the same Premium plan.

13. Where can I see my payment and order details?

Sign in and open your dashboard, then use the My Orders section — or go straight to trickyssc.com/my-orders.html. It shows every purchase with the date and time of payment, your Payment ID, Order ID, amount paid and the date your access runs until. Razorpay also emails a receipt PDF at the time of payment. If a purchase is missing, you are most likely signed in with a different login method than the one you bought with — Google and mobile OTP create separate accounts.
