This page holds the English Language section of every full-length SSC CGL mock test on TrickySSC as a stand-alone timed test. Each Tier I test is the English Language section of a full mock — 25 questions, 15 minutes, 50 marks, marked +2 / −0.5 — and each Tier II test is the same subject's block of a Tier II mock — 45 questions, 40 minutes, 135 marks, marked +3 / −1. The questions are the same ones inside the full mock; what changes is that you sit only this section, on its own clock, and get a score and rank for it alone.
English is the last section of the Tier I paper, attempted when concentration is lowest, and it carries the same 50 marks as Quant. Most of its 25 questions can be answered in under twenty seconds if the rule is known, which makes it the best section on the paper for pulling the total up — provided vocabulary and grammar have been practised in exam format rather than from lists.
The English Language questions in the mocks are built from a study of previous year papers and the 2026 syllabus, so the mix of topics per test follows what SSC actually asks: spotting errors, sentence improvement, fill in the blanks, synonyms and antonyms, idioms and phrases, one-word substitution, spelling, active-passive voice, direct-indirect speech, para jumbles, cloze test and reading comprehension. Mock 1 to Mock 40 are set at real examination level; Mock 41 to Mock 50 are challenge tests, deliberately harder than the paper, so that an unexpectedly tough shift on the day feels manageable.
Start with the cloze test and the comprehension passage while you are fresh — together they are usually 8–10 questions from two short readings. Then clear the one-line grammar questions (error spotting, sentence improvement, voice, narration). Keep synonyms, antonyms, idioms and spelling for the end: they take five seconds each when known and are not worth a minute of thought when not.

From Mock 5 onward the tests are part of Premium — one payment of ₹49 (normally ₹199) unlocks all 50 Tier I and all 50 Tier II full-length mocks together with every subject-wise test (Quant, Reasoning, GK, English and, for Tier II, Computer) for a full year. Subject-wise tests are for the days between: a 15-minute English test after a study session tells you immediately whether the topic has actually gone in, at a fraction of the time a full paper needs. Because the questions are shared, attempt the full mock first when you want a clean total, and use its subject tests for revision afterwards.

The questions are the same, so if you want an honest full-mock score, attempt the full mock first and the subject test afterwards for revision.
